Thought we’d try out a new layout. I’m still working on customizing the header, but thought this layout was a little more clean and crisp.

Wendy invited me to the Dallas Cowboys vs Tampa Bay Bucs game yesterday, and obviously, I couldn’t turn it down. After sitting through two hours of traffic to get to a parking spot that was nearly a mile away from the stadium, we had amazing seats with a great view… 17 rows up from the field near the end zone and the Cowboys tunnel. I had a great time and our ‘boys pulled through (even though the last two minutes gave ne a oanic attack!). I’ll definitely be sad when our ‘boys will no longer play in Texas Stadium after this year, but I’m glad that I was able to go to a game in their last season there.

I put my new digi cam to the test and got some pretty good photos too. I tested the “stitch” feature on it and was able to produce the following panorama by merging all of the photos:

Here are two action shots, one of Brad Johnson in the pocket and the other of the ‘boys congratulating Roy Williams after catching a touchdown pass:

Of course, fans can always be enlightened by the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders:

I was able to grab a few shots of few random shots of players also, including Terrell Owens, Jason Witten and Miles Austin:

Here’s a picture of me with the field in the background:

I’m so extremely geeky…. I upgraded my digital camera today so that I would have a better quality camera for my overseas trip. Since I loved my old Canon PowerShot so much, I decided to stick with getting another Canon PowerShot. After reading all the reviews and checking all of the prices, I ended up purchasing the Canon PowerShot SD790. The features are exponential, and overall, it’s just so damn pretty! I get to break it in tomorrow at the Dallas Cowboys game, so we’ll see how it does.

In an unusual turn of things, we got some nice – and much needed – cooler weather when it suddenly dropped to 40 degrees last night. When fall arrives, I always look forward to unpacking my boots and breaking them in for the winter. Oh, how I love thy boots!

One wedding. One funeral. One memory walk. All in one weekend!

Yesterday, we were able to share in Keefe and Cat’s special day… at a very sweet wedding ceremony in Carrollton and reception at Maxim’s Chinese Restaurant. This couple is a classic example of how small the world is – or a classic example of six degrees of separation – because I used to work with the groom at the same company and the bride went to high school with a good friend of ours. The wedding ceremony itself was beautiful, but the crowd at the reception was a little tame because it consisted of much older folks. I don’t think I’ve heard shorter best man or maid of honor toasts before, and it’s amazing how you can’t truly appreciate a “fun” wedding until you’ve been to one (chuckle). Thankfully there was a bottle of Hennessey and Disaronno at our table to make the night fly by!

Today was a much more somber day for us.

We started the day by attending a funeral service of a friend’s mother, only really because we wanted to support our friend through these hard times and show our respect/condolences if we could. The service was traditional and held at a local Baptist Church. The pastor said many kind words, and the service itself was very thoughtful. Even though we didn’t know his mother directly, I’m glad we were able to be there for him in some way.

To end the weekend, we walked in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walk earlier this evening. As I had for the past five years, I walked in memory of my friend Adine’s father, Ali Bagheri, who lost his battle with leukemia on May 13, 2003. This year, I also walked in memory of my friend Cassidy’s mother, Elaine Robertson, who lost her battle last year. Although I wasn’t able to raise as much money as I had in the previous years, I was still turn in a few hundred dollars towards the cause.

I decided to get a new phone two weeks ago, mainly because I was ready to eliminate the data plan from my wireless bill. For some strange reason, it’s mandatory to have a data plan if you have a Blackberry with Verizon Wireless. I needed email/Blackberry with my previous employer, but since there wasn’t a need for it with my current employer, it was pointless for me to pay an extra $30 for data/email.

I had narrowed it down to two phones: the LG Dare and the Motorola Krave. After some research, I decided to go with the LG Dare. The consumer and tech reviews were mostly positive, and those who bought the phone loved it. It was harder to find consumer reviews on the Motorola Krave since it had just launched earlier this week. In the end, I liked the LG Dare’s hard/software platform more and I didn’t think I could ever really get used to the flip phone feature with the Motorola Krave.

I picked up my new phone last night and it’s the cutest thing ever. I also bought a black silicone cover and some screen sheet protectors for it . So far, so good. Lets hope this phone lasts me another year or two before I have to turn it in for another one.

Thanks to Lauren, Binh and I went to one of the most malicious ice hockey games we’d ever been to last week… with a view from the admiral/platinum suites, much less! It was an incredible, amazing, awesome adrenaline rush. Fists were thrown left and right, players were being ejected and the penalty box was filled to capacity for most of the night. It was pure awesomeness.

Binh and I were invited to a quinceanera two weeks ago… here’s Jeff with all the smokin’ hot ladies. It’s simply a picture worth posting (if not again and again, hehe).
