This time last year, I was cursing up a storm because the New England Patriots had just won their 16th straight game and beat the New York Giants, but we all know what eventually happened… the New York Giants won the Super Bowl. I’m still shocked that there’s only two days left until 2009… and only two days left to accomplish what is left of my 2008 resolutions. Okay, maybe I’m just kidding myself. I had to remind myself of those resolutions:
- Be conscious of what I eat and eat healthier.
- Exercise regularly and lose weight.
- Drink more water.
- Save money and save it as quickly as possible.
- Honk less.
- Get together with my girlfriends more.
Since reality is kicking in, I realized the following: I didn’t become more conscious of what I was eating or start exercising regularly, but I did start drinking more water. I did honk less – no thanks to Binh continuously calling me “honky” – and was also able to get together with my girlfriends more. Perhaps a 2/3 ratio isn’t too bad afterall.
2008 was a great year filled with many great memories — and the one that tops the list is getting married to Binh and becoming Mrs. Binh Nguyen. The wedding, and everything that came with it (including all of the chaotic wedding planning) showed me how truly blessed I am to have such loving family and friends.
Nothing can top the wedding, but these favorite memories of mine come pretty close:

2008 has quickly come and gone, and I wish everyone a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2009!
I was sick over the Thanksgiving break, which really put a damper on my long holiday weekend. My allergies somehow turned into full blown sinusitis, and I ended up losing my voice on Thanksgiving Day. It probably didn’t help when Binh and I decided to sit outside that evening (in the cold and rain) at Best Buy to be one of the first 50 shoppers on Black Friday…. although I did walk away with a brand-spankin’-new laptop and he got a new PlayStation 3. I eventually wasn’t getting better so I caved in and went to the doctor. After coughing up all kinds of stuff last week, I’m finally feeling much better.
…and feeling good enough to put up our Christmas tree. :-)
